Who Needs to Take a Snowmobile Safety Course???

Below is a Complete listing of Safty Classes, dates and locations

 

You must successfully complete a snowmobile safety course if you are:

  • A person who is at least 12 but less than 17 years of age operating a snowmobile without direct supervision of a person 21 years of age or older must have in their immediate possession a valid snowmobile safety certificate.
  • A person who is at least 12 but less than 17 years of age may not cross a highway or street without having a valid snowmobile safety certificate in their immediate possession.
  • Snowmobile safety training is recommended for all snowmobile operators. Modern snowmobiles are capable of high rates of speeds over snow and ice. With the countless hazards associated with operating a snowmobile, training is a crucial factor in safe and responsible snowmobile operation.
  • Michigan Conservation Officers, in cooperation with schools, organizations and associations, take an active role in assuring that all of Michigan's citizens are given the opportunity to take a snowmobile safety course. The course emphasizes safe and responsible snowmobile operation.

Saturday, December 1: The class is being sponsored by the Benzie-Manistee Snowbirds. The classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the clubhouse, 14121 Industrial Dr., Kaleva. Lunch will be provided. For more information, call Jeff at (231) 510-2622.

Saturday, December 1: The class is sponsored by the SnomadS Snofari Club. It is being held at the Warren Parks and Recreation, 5460 Arden Rd., Warren from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (586) 268-8400.

Saturday, December 1: The class is being sponsored by the Frankenmuth Snowmobile Club. It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Frankenmuth Conservation Club, 8415 E Curtis Rd., Frankenmuth. For more information, call Ed Roedel at (989) 823-2225.

Saturday, December 1: The class is being sponsored by the Snomads. It will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Warren Parks and Recreation, 5460 Arden Rd. For more information, call (586)268-8400.

Saturday, December 1: The class is being sponsored by the Trailriders Snowmobile Club at the groomer barn located at 6991 South Astor Rd. in Baldwin. Saturday December 1: The class is being sponsored by the Southwest Michigan Snowstompers Snowmobile Club. The class will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lawton Fire Hall. Tuesday, December 4 and Wednesday, Dec. 5: The class is being held at the Antrim County Snowmobile Club at the Clubhouse. For more information call Darrel at (231) 676-1202.

Saturday, December 8: The class is being sponsored by the Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club. The class will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Frank Alley Memorial Park, 2846 N. Fairview Rd, West Branch. A free lunch and drinks will be provided by Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend. The class is limited to 25 students. Monday, December 10 & Wednesday, December 12: This class will be held at the Auburn Hills Parks and Recreation Department, 1827 Squirrel Rd. For information and to register, call (248) 370-9353.

Monday, January 7 & Tuesday, January 8: Byron Center Snowmobile Association The class is being held at the Caledonia Middle School, Cafeteria, 9757 Duncan Lake Ave. from 6-8:30 p.m. For more information, call Terry Barton at (616) 891-8117.

Monday, January 14 & Wednesday, January 16: This class is will take placen from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Novi Community Education Department, 25345 Taft Rd., Novi. For more information, call (248) 449-1206.
