The weather is not looking too good for the next 6-10 days (Warner than average, highs in the 40’s and some possible rain). The East & west sides were last groomed on Tuesday the 25th and the Railroad grade on Saturday. We are done grooming the grade until we get some significant snow, we might be able to get out and groom on the East & West sides but that is up in the air as there really isn’t a lot of snow to work with. There are a lot of dirt spots in all the sunny areas on the trails, the woods seems to be holding snow pretty well but it is hard and icy.
Groomer Mike went out on the grade last night, there is still a good amount of snow in some areas on the grade but there are also a lot of bare spots. The closer to Mackinaw the less snow there is. We didn’t groom any of our other trails as they were still pretty flat yesterday. All of the trails are hard and icy, and do have some bare areas, we need more snow!! Ride safe.
Trail Update: Not much has changed since our last report on Tuesday. We have gotten maybe an inch of fresh snow but the wind has been blowing like crazy. We did have a groomer go out on the grade last night but we were not able to do much as the trails are very hard and icy and there are some dirt spots out there so please ride with caution.
We groomed the West side from the Barn to Larks Lake & Cross Village, & the Railroad Grade from Pellston to Mackinaw last night. Tonight we have our groomers out on the Railroad Grade from Pellston to Alanson and on the East side from the Barn to Pellston & Alanson. The trails really took a beating from all the warm weather we had over the last few days. The trails in the woods seem to be holding up pretty good, however, there are some thin/dirt spots in the open sun areas. Overall trail conditions are fair-good, we need more snow!!
It was a beautiful weekend! Unfortunately we were not able to groom any of the trails, it’s currently 40 degrees outside, but it does look like its supposed to cool down this week and it looks like we might be getting some more snow! We will keep everyone updated as to when we go out grooming again. On another note one of our “local” trails got shut down today, Zulskis field, due to people leaving behind garbage, not staying on the trail, and running trees over. A groomed trail or not everyone needs to respect all private & public land as if it were your own!!
We groomed a loop from the East side from the barn to Pellston, the grade to Alanson, and then Alanson back to the Barn and most of the west side. We had some high winds late afternoon into the night last night and some of the trails are drifted right over so please ride with caution! We should have some groomers going back out tonight to groom the grade and the entire west side pending the temperatures drop down below freezing.
Our groomers were out again last night!! The Railroad grade & the west side to Cross Village & Larks Lake were groomed & are in good shape!! We will be grooming the East side to Pellston & Alanson tonight. We got about 6” of fresh snow yesterday, just what we needed, however it does look like we are in for a warm up this weekend – temps in the mid 30’s.
So far we have about 4” of fresh snow and it’s still coming down!! One of our groomers was out last night and groomed from the Harbor Barn to Larks Lake, trails 71, 704, 721, & 705. The Railroad Grade and trails from the Harbor Barn to Pellston & Alanson we’re groomed Sunday night. All trails are in good shape!!
We had our groomers out on the Railroad Grade & the East Side from the Barn to Pellston & Alanson last night and those trails are flat once again! Temperatures are currently below zero & it looks like we are in for another 6” of snow tonight!! We would also like to welcome our new groomer operator, Clyde, to our team!! We have about 9 groomer operators to split between our 3 groomers & all of our trails, we cannot thank them enough for volunteering their time to keep our trails flat!
All of our trails were groomed again last night and are in good shape, except for Oak drive on trail 71, that section is drifted pretty bad – we are hoping to get that section on the next go around.
The west side from the Barn to Larks Lake & Cross Village (71, 710, 704, 705, & 721) was groomed last night and is in good shape!! The railroad grade (7) and East Side from the Barn to Pellston & Alanson (71, 711) will be groomed tonight. We are planning on having groomers out every night this weekend! Happy Riding!!
The East side from the Barn to Alanson (71 & 711) was groomed last night & we have a groomer out on the railroad grade (7) tonight! Trails are in good shape, and the snow is coming down – looks like we’re supposed to get about 2 inches tonight.
All three of our groomers were out last night and the trails are in good shape! We groomed the Railroad Grade (7), the East side from the Barn to Pellston (717), and the West side from the Barn to Larks Lake & Cross Village (71, 710, 704, 705, & 721)! We will have a groomer headed out tonight to groom from the Barn to Alanson.
❄️❄️❄️ We finally got some more snow, about 4-6 inches!! We should have groomers out tonight or tomorrow, I will have a better update once the groomers are out. ❄️❄️❄️
Just got a trail report from some of our members out riding, the trails are in flat and overall in good shape considering the amount of snow we have. Some areas are icy and have minimal snow but still rideable. We don’t have any plans on grooming this weekend as there really isn’t much snow to work with. Let’s hope we get some snow soon!! ❄️❄️❄️
The East side from the groomer barn to Pellston was groomed last night and is in good shape!
All three groomers were out last night!! The railroad grade, trail 717 behind the airport, the west side and the East side to Alanson got groomed! We will be grooming the East side to Pellston tonight. Trails are in good shape, see everyone at the pizza dinner tonight!
There really isn’t a whole lot of snow to work with out there, we groomed the loop from the barn to Pellston then on the grade to Alanson and back last night. Overall the trails are in good-fair condition considering what little snow we have.
We were able to get out and groom the West side last night and we have a groomer headed out tonight on the east side!!
This year is nothing like last, we last groomed the East & West sides about a week and a half ago and the grade on Sunday. The last time we got any good snow was on the Moose Jaw Safari, the temperatures have been up and down and it’s looking like it’s going to be another warm weekend. The trails are overall in fair-good condition, some trails are bumpy due to the lack of snow and there is a lot of snirt out there. Everyone better start doing the snow dance, let’s hope February brings us the snow we need!!
The railroad grade was groomed last night and is in good shape, we are hoping to get out and groom the rest of our trails later this week when the temperatures get back down below freezing.
Unfortunately we are not sending our groomers out tonight due to the above freezing temperatures and rain in the forecast. We are hoping to get out tomorrow if the weather gets better.
The Railroad Grade (trail 7) & The West side from the barn to Larks Lake & Cross Village areas (trails 71, 704, 705, 710, 721) were groomed last night and are in good shape!
We groomed the Railroad Grade (Trail7) along with the East side to Pellston & Alanson last night (Trails 71, 717 & 711) Trail 711 that runs along Hathaway Rd is down to dirt in some spots but still rideable. Overall conditions are good.
The West side of the trail system was groomed last night after the Safari (trails 71, 704, 705, 710, 721). The east side to Pellston & Alanson along with the railroad grade will be groomed tonight. We got about a foot of fresh snow yesterday, the trails are in good shape!!
The East & West sides were groomed last night and are in good shape. Today is the 55th Annual Moose Jaw Safari! The ride leaves the barn at 10am sharp, see everyone there!
The railroad grade, trail 7 was groomed last night and is in good shape! We will be grooming the rest of our trails tonight. Please beware there is a missing STOP sign at Crump road heading west – we will get that back up tonight. We got a good amount of snow yesterday and it looks like we’re in for another 3 inches today/tonight and then tomorrow another 3-6!!
We did some grooming last night!! Most all the trails were groomed and are in pretty good shape considering the amount of snow we have. Trail 7, the railroad grade cannot be groomed yet due to the lack of snow. Everyone start doing the snow dance because we really need it!!!
Our members have been working hard over the last few days to clean up the trails. We have gotten the majority of everything cleaned up but please ride with caution as there are water holes and frozen brush in the trails and ruts from fallen trees. We are still not able to get out a groom due to the lack of snow, however there is a system moving on Sunday so let’s hope this brings us the snow we need. We will keep everyone updated as much as possible on trail conditions but until we start grooming you can expect the conditions to be “fair” and to ride with caution.
Please ride with caution!! We have closed trail 721 (between melody lane and larks lake road) due to the majority of it being flooded. All of the trails have a ton of brush and trees down, we had several members out today cleaning up what we could but there is just so much that at most spots we just made enough room to pass through. There is a ton more work to be done so if anyone is looking for something to do grab your friends and a saw and hit the trails!
The snow is back!! We got about 6”-8” of heavy wet snow today and it looks like there is more in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. We still do not have enough to get out and groom the trails yet so keep doing the snow dance!! Please keep in mind that with all the heavy snow there may be trees and branches on the trails so please ride with caution. Also don’t forget we have our club meeting this Thursday, 7pm at the Harbor Barn. ❄️❄️❄️
We hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas! We have had some warm weather over the last few days that has melted a lot of our snow, therefor we are still not able to start grooming. The trails have snow for the most part but there are going to be some bare areas, water holes, rocks, washouts, etc.. so please ride with caution! Let’s hope Mother Nature brings some snow our way for the new year!!!
We have not be able to groom the trails yet, we need at least another good 8” of snow before we can do so. We have heard from a few people out on the trails that they are decent for what snow we do have but there are still some spots of dirt, water holes, and washouts. Please ride with caution and let’s hope some more snow comes our way!!
